About Us

Our guests tell us that when they go on holiday they want all of their home conveniences as a minimum, together with those little extras that have come to characterise a stay at Boscrowan. Both Peace & Plenty and Ring & Thimble have high quality fixtures and fittings. The colours and fabrics are carefully selected and chosen to be sympathetic with the period of the properties and surroundings. We have spared no expense in our selection of beds and bedding to ensure the comfort of our guests.

To us holiday accommodation is not just a high standard of décor, fittings and facilities but the environment in which our guests enjoy their stay at Boscrowan.

Boscrowan provides space to roam and somewhere to sit and contemplate, a seat by the river, a meal outside in the orchard, a walk across the fields, just the place to relax and recharge. Our guests are invited to roam anywhere around our 25 acres.

Here at Boscrowan we want to play our part in protecting our surroundings for future generations of locals and visitors. To do this we have an environmental and economic plan and invite our guests to participate in this during their stay at Boscrowan. This means we think about things that come into the farm and what leaves the farm.

When we initially renovated both cottages we made a conscious decision to use local builders for the fabric of the building and a local carpenter to design and fit the kitchen. We try to produce a mix that is distinctively ‘Traditional Cornish’; while maintaining the benefits and amenities of modern living.

Everyone produces waste but we have tried to limit the impact on the local environment. Guests are encouraged to use the recycling facilities and compost bins provided. We also provide shopping bags to limit the need for plastic carrier bags from the local shops and we use low energy lightbulbs in a local conservation trial. We also harvest rainwater for use in the garden.

Our hedgerows are maintained sympathetically by not trimming them between March and July and then only one side each year for conservation purposes and we grow a local variety of daffodils in the spring.

For our guests, we provide local clotted cream for their cream tea on arrival, and a bottle of locally produced apple juice in the fridge.

At Boscrowan things never stand still. We use our guest's feedback to maintain and improve our standards, to give you the best in quality holiday accommodation.

Sustainable
Tourism
Boscrowan is a member of the CoaST Project and we subscribe to their objectives as follows:

1. To promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the natural environment by encouraging and developing best practice for sustainable tourism within all aspects of the tourist industry across Cornwall through the provision of training and education, and to disseminate this research and experience, for the public benefit, to the rest of the UK.
2. To advance the education and training of the public in the principles of sustainable living through the provision of information, advice and practical examples of environmental protection, renewable energy, zero waste and recycling, sustainable transport, environmentally friendly building, local food projects and sustainable tourism activities.
3. To increase the opportunities of access for all to tourism in Cornwall, and in particular with regard to those who have been typically excluded due to physical and mental disabilities.
